Would you change your lifestyle to live longer?
Middle-aged male smokers with high blood pressure and high cholesterol face having their lives cut by a decade, a study warns. Does your lifestyle need changing?
The UK study looked at more than 19,000 men aged 40-69 and traced what happened to them 38 years later. The study found that men with these three risk factors could see their life expectancy cut by 10 years among over-50s.
Dr Robert Clarke, led the study, he said: "'We've shown that men at age 50 who smoke, have high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels can expect to survive to 74 years of age, while those who have none of these risk factors can expect to live until 83.
Are you worried about the effect your lifestyle is having on your health? Do you pay attention to health warnings? Or do you ignore advice? Would you change your habits to live longer?
